RAFARS DINNER AND AGM 2009
16 Oct The Annual Dinner will held at the Grays Hotel, Telford TF3 4ND.
17 Oct The AGM will take place in the No.1 Radio School at DCAE Cosford
at 1330hrs. Full details included with the Autumn QRV.
If staying at hotel, please book room soonest. Attending the AGM, vehicle
and personal details to HQRAFARS by the 25th Sept. You must carry RAFARS
Membership card and other ID.

Nov 17: All meetings commence at 1200hrs.
Any member may attend Council meetings but travel costs can not be paid.

QRV EDITORIAL CHALLENGE.
A new idea to keep your QRV alive and vibrant.
How about this for a challenge - a member to have a bash and take
responsibility for putting together TEN pages of copy for the 2010 autumn
edition of QRV including - if you would like to do so - any of the regular
features and your own introductory editorial?
If you are interested, and can abide by a few simple layout rules so that
your copy fits in with the present QRV style, please get in touch with me

NFD SSB 5/6 SEPTEMBER
Roger, our Contest Manager is presently recovering following a viral
infection that put him in hospital. Tony G0WFV our Special Projects Manager
has, at short notice, volunteered to stand in for Roger. It would be very
much appreciated if members could make a special effort to help Tony with
the NFD.
We all wish that Roger makes a speedy return to good health.
GB2RAF AIR DEFENCE RADAR MUSEUM RAF NEATISHEAD RAFARS PERMANENT S.E.S.
De-brief 8 August. Number of contacts 33. I had one Air Cadet (non licence)
helping me to log. Conditions fair with QSB on 80m also went onto 40 and 20m
and spent about 1hr on the key. RAFARS Members worked SSB G4PFR, G3KGM
G4YEP M0SDZ GB2AIR/G1IND GB2IWM.
GB2RAF should be QRV every 2nd Saturday of the Month 1000-1500hrs local on
RAFARS frequencies SSB or CW on 80m, or 40m if conditions are poor.
